As I reminisce about the Taiwan company trip of 2023, a bittersweet nostalgia washes over me, tinged with a hint of regret for what has passed. Over five days and four nights, we embarked on a journey that intertwined camaraderie, exploration, and gastronomic delights.
The memories flood back vividly—the myriad flavors of Taiwanese cuisine tantalizing our taste buds, each dish a testament to the island’s rich culinary heritage. From sumptuous street food (bingsu, tang hulu, fermented tofu, etc) to elegant restaurant fare, every meal was a celebration of exquisite flavors and shared laughter around the table.
Our days were filled with exploration, as we ventured to iconic landmarks and breathtaking natural wonders. From the majestic beauty of Yehliu Geopark, Shifen Old Village, and Sun Moon Lake to the bustling streets of Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, each destination left an indelible mark on our collective consciousness, a testament to the beauty and diversity of Taiwan.
And who could forget the ubiquitous Taiwan Milk Tea, a ubiquitous companion throughout our journey? Its creamy sweetness provided a comforting respite amidst our adventures. Enjoying milk tea in its homeland is a memorable experience. Taiwan is the home of various famous branches like Fifty Lan, Xing Fu Tang, Chun Sui Tang, Tiger Sugar, Coco, etc. Each branch has its special flavors and cannot mix with others.
But perhaps the most cherished memories were those forged in the company of colleagues turned friends. Through team activities and shared experiences, bonds were strengthened, and new connections formed, weaving a tapestry of camaraderie that transcended the confines of the office.
As I look back on those five fleeting days, I can’t help but feel a twinge of regret for the moments that have slipped through my fingers. Yet, amidst the wistfulness, there is an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the memories we created and the friendships we forged.
